Billy Boyo

First passed the mic aged nine by Toyan at a Jammy’s Hi-Fi dance at 82 Chisholm Avenue dance, Billy Boyo’s unique lyrical style and delivery saw him become a crucial member of Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes Volcano crew. His debut shot ‘One Spliff A Day’ in 1981 was an instant hit for the then 10 year old DJ and it’s second life as a sample standby has ensured Billy Boyo is known worldwide by fans of many genres. Follow up hits ‘Billy Boyo On The Go’, ‘Wicked She Wicked’ and ‘Righteousness’ combinations with Little Harry, ‘Janet Sinclair’ and ‘Bushmaster Connection’ led to an iconic DJ Clash set with Little Harry released by Greensleeves Records in 1983.
