Michael Prophet first came to attention in the late ‘70’s with some much sought after recordings for producer Yabby U, a series of much in-demand pre’s and dubplates led to a deal with Island Records and the assembling of the classic ‘Serious Reasoning’ album. In 1980 Prophet linked up with producer Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes and backed by the Roots Radics recorded the classic ‘Righteous Are The Conqueror’ and ‘Gunman’ albums for Greensleeves Records.
Michael Prophet returned to the top in the early ‘90’s with a string of hits in combination with Ricky Tuffy and the popular ‘Bull talk’ album. Michael remained a big draw on the live circuit until his untimely passing in 2017. His music and memory will be with us for ever.
